The Internationalization Of Silversea Cruises

Citizens of the United States are the largest demographic group on Silver Cloud this week, but as a whole, they make up less than half of the passenger mix, accounting for 103 of the 263 passengers on board (the ship's capacity is 296).

Australians number 74, and the United Kingdom is short 21 of its citizens this week.

A lonely two Kiwis roam the decks, same for the Venezuelans and for the French (who would have thought with so much champagne on board?).

Austria ridded itself of only one citizen to Silver Cloud this week; and Spain sent eight, enough for full-time flamenco lessons for the whole ship.

There are four Chinese on board; one Irishman, which could account for why the whiskey bottles are always a few fingers shy of the bottom; four Italians, living la dolce vita; eight Mexicans; six Swiss; seven Germans; six Brazilians; 12 Canadians; and two Chlleans.

Who takes care of all of the non-native English speakers and single travelers? The lovely international hostesses, Anita Labs, who hails from Germany; and Johanna Alarco Jeri, from Peru. No one ever need feel left out, alone or isolated. If only the world could get along as well as Silver Cloud's passengers.
